Zenometric Monads Foundation

The purpose of the Zenometric Monads Foundation is to manage the legacy artwork of the artist Zeno of Amsterdam (1935-2011), to offer it to the world and thus, enhance the appreciation of his work from its initial concepts.

According to the artist:

  • Zenometric Monads are works of art expressed in stone. They represent the essence of those seeking their own cosmos.
  • Therefore, individual Monads should not be regarded exclusively as objects that are part of the canon of modern art from the 2nd half of the 20th century.
They are forms that provide confirmation. They act as guiding lights to those on the journey to realising their own cosmos.
  • The artist wished for the Monads to be placed in appropriate locations where they could be presented in the optimal environment for contemplation.

The Zenometric Monads Foundation wishes to have the work of Zeno of Amsterdam presented to the world in three ways:

  • It is the intention that the Zenometric Monads are presented as a coherent collection of 20th century art in a book to show that the Monads refer to themselves, as well as to one another, and that together, they refer to deeper strata of experience in the human consciousness.
  • Further, to do justice to the deeper meaning of individual Monads, each one will be donated to a pertinent organisation that wishes to display a Monad in an optimal location.
  • Finally, those Monads that have found their place within an pertinent organisation somewhere in the world, will be shown in context on the website for the Zenometric Monads Foundation: www.monaden.org.
